Abstract

Statisticians typically handle two kinds of data: micro and macro-data, gathered in two kinds of statistical bases: micro- and macro-data bases. This article is a contribution to modelization and manipulation of macro-data (also called summary data). We propose a summary-data representation based upon the following data-structure concept: Complex Statistical Table -CST-. In order to manipulate this structure, we define two classes of operators: structural operators that permit to operate on CST structure and retrieval operators that work on CST instances.
